Overview

We are dedicated to building an inclusive learning environment to reflect the diversity inherent in a program that features both rural and urban core training sites. We likewise are committed to educating our residents about the health inequities that many patients in Alaska and Seattle continue to face.

As residents move through our program, didactics will promote cultural competency and health inequity awareness and address challenges unique to healthcare delivery in rural and remote communities. Professional development activities will take full advantage of the diverse clinical, scholarly, and educational opportunities available within Alaska and the broader UW system. Additionally, the program will offer elective clinical rotations at sites that reflect Alaska’s diverse communities, including sites run by Alaska Native tribal governments.
